Welcome back to the 2016-2017 school year. I hope you all had a great summer. Never before have programs like ours been more in need and it’s exciting to see the growth and innovation taking place in the projects, lessons and student work you all contribute. This group over 4000 individual teachers, imagine how many students that is!
This year we will be adding more resources, more lessons and will be asking for you to show off more of your students’ work. Our students create amazing and poignant works of art as well as silly and fun pieces that show their individual character.
Post comments, suggestions, challenges and victories as well as ideas that you hit it out of the park with to our group page. If you have a resource to share and can’t please let me know and I’ll help you get that resource up for everyone to see.
If you want to be involved more deeply in the process CTE Online is hosting Curriculum Writing Institutes. These uniquely collaborative events are held typically in Oct/Nov and Jan/Feb. Educators selected will spend two full days collaborating and innovating to create educationally rich content that prepares CTE students for both college and careers. Travel, meals, lodging and substitute reimbursement are offered and the project completed will be made publicly available for free to help other teachers with quality lessons and resources.
Teachers receive a $2000 stipend for their finalized lessons.
The (2) PBL Curriculum Writing Institute:
- For our PBL Institutes, we are looking for individual CTE teachers to write 4 lesson plans within their own unified project.
- Dates: December 6-7, 2016 in Ontario, Ca OR February 22-23 in Sacramento, Ca.
I hope you make our group page a bookmark you check on a regular basis.
Best wishes on the start of your school year.
